Who we are

David Glasgow

David Glasgow is a clinical and forensic psychologist who has worked with violent offenders, sex offenders and victims of offences for over 25 years in high, medium and low secure NHS settings, as well as community forensic services. Whilst a lecturer at Liverpool University he developed and taught the SAGE special needs forensic interviewing system. He was also a founding co-director of the Forensic Behavioural Studies programme at Liverpool University. Subsequently he was a course director of the Child Forensic Studies programme at Leeds University and also the Forensic Issues programme at the (now) University of Cumbria. In 2005 he left academic and NHS work for independent forensic practice.

He has prepared and given evidence in hundreds of court cases, on a wide range of issues, including risk assessment, capacity, mental disorder, the conduct of forensic interviews.

He has developed or contributed to developing numerous computer based psychological assessments, including: phallometry software, priming software, discourse analysis software, the In My Shoes interviewing system, preparedness for change, the Affinity assessment of paedophile sexual interest, a revision of the Laws Sexual Deviance Card Sort, risk assessment visualisations, This Much! (an interactive visual analogue scale), a computerisation of Blackburn's interpersonal CIRCLE, and also ISOPS, a procedure for assessing internet offenders.

Helen Carlton Smith

Helen is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has worked in mental health services for Children and Families for over 20 years. Over recent years she has specialised in Parent-Child Game treatment and is currently the co-ordinator for P-CG services for the CAMHS Directorate of Central Manchester Foundation Trust . This involves offering supervision across four P-CG clinics. She also delivers P-CG supervision sessions for other NHS services around the North West of England on a regular basis and runs training course for those wishing to practice P-CG.
