Obtain an estimate, or make a provisional booking
A typical assessment of one adult consists of 3-6 hours interviewing/assessment divided into interviews according to the wishes, needs and capacity of the interviewee. Psychometric assessment typically adds 1-2 hours to this figure.
A similar period of time is required for analysis of test results, and also for compilation and preparation of the report.
Time required to read papers depends on the existence, relevance, availability and extent of medical/social care/forensic records.
If you wish to receive a detailed estimate, the following information will be required:
1/ The volume of typed papers
2/ The volume of handwritten/mixed authorship documents (such as health and social records)
3/ Duration of audio or video tapes
4/ Availability of accurate verbatim transcripts (re 3 above)
5/ Number of individuals to be assessed
6/ Number of individuals to be interviewed as third-party informants
7/ The specific issues to be addressed in any report
The most common cause of delay in the completion of risk assessment is the non availability of relevant records. These vary from case to case, but generally, consideration should be given to obtaining any health, educational or social care records which may shed light on any developmental problems. Details of previous convictions are obviously important, as are court bundles relating to previous proceedings and 'Sleuth' records if domestic violence has been an issue. A significant component of the assessment will consist of personal history and development. Any educational or other records/statements which can corroborate (or otherwise) the interview evidence are particularly important.
Assessment of internet offenders requires unrestricted access to the original reports relating to the content of disk drives and pattern of internet activity over time.
Please note that instructions cannot be accepted where the instructing agency is not solely responsible for collection payment of the fee(s). All cost estimates are exclusive of VAT.
If a provisional booking has been made, but you do not wish to proceed to instructions, please make contact as soon as possible so the time can be reallocated. If written instructions are not received within 10 working days of this provisional booking, the provisional dates may be released for other cases.
It is sometimes possible to take on urgent cases at short notice as a result of cancellations. However, there is typically a 10 to 15 week lead time for commencement of work. Reports are typically completed and submitted within 2 weeks of completion of assessment.
