ISOPS

ISOPS.jpgThe Internet Sex Offender Profiling System (ISOPS)  software constitutes one element of a system for risk assessment of sex offenders.  In isolation, it does not constitute a risk assessment.  It must be combined with appropriate psychometric assessment, interview and content analysis of sexually explicit material (SEM).

Some elements of the ISOPS profile may be immediately incorporated into a risk as- sessment, and are self explanatory.  Other elements form data which require further analysis within the context of clinical evidence.  A very significant aspect of the profile is the sampling procedure designed to identify files containing SEM preferred by the user, and which are therefore prioritised for analysis.

If preferred files do not constitute a sufficiently large sample, they may be supplemented by SEM randomly drawn from non-preferred sources.  A content analysis can then be conducted on the hybrid sample using the ISOPS software.

The system was developed with the Risk for Sexual Violence Protocol (RSVP)

in mind. Although it is not part of the RSVP system, ISOPS should always be interpreted within such an over-arching risk assessment framework.

Qualification

ISOPS is a restricted assessment procedure which may only be used by professionals experienced in psychometric procedures and in working with sex offenders. For further details, contact the developer
